Investment center to finish by end of year

THE new P50-million Davao City Investment and Promotion Center (DCIPC) building is expected to finish by the end of the year and will be a one-stop-shop with the City Tourism Operations Office (CTOO).

Lemuel Ortonio, former DCIPC head and now Human Resource Management Office (HRMO) acting head, during the iSpeak media forum last October 11, said that the new building will also have new corporate features that will be conducive in dealing with potential investors.

“Ang pinaka-highlight didto, gi-one-stop-shop na pud siya. Naa na didto ang DCIPC ug ang tourism office (We want to highlight that it will house the DCIPC and the CTOO),” Ortonio said, adding that it will also house the Negosyo Center currently inside the DCIPC building at Magsaysay Park.

“The offerings of the building are very corporate. We will have better facilities in terms of meeting rooms [for our] potential investors and visitors,” Ortonio said.

“There is one floor exclusively for meeting areas, one conference room and three small rooms for larger crowd of business delegations coming in. After the meeting, we can have smaller breakout rooms,” he added.

He added that the top floor of the new building will have an urban garden, just like the City Hall annex.

“This is already coordinated with the City Agriculturist's Office who will facilitate the urban garden,” Ortonio said.

The budget was allocated from the Annual Development Fund of 2018. (LHC)
