Veteran rules in Datba tourney

VETERAN Romy Serrano emerged champion in the Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) weekly tournament that resumed recently at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center.

Serrano, with a handicap of 21, toppled a total of 631 pinfalls in three games of the 13-player tournament.

He outclassed John Tamondong and Ivan Awid who settled for second and third, respectively.

Tamondong, who has a 22 handicap, rolled 581 pins while Awid hit 580 pinfalls.

The top three players received cash prizes of P700, P400 and P200.

Meanwhile, Datba will send a team that will compete in the 10th Cetba Open Tenpin Bowling Championships 2018 at the SM Bowling Center Cebu at SM City Cebu. This will serve as the 13th and penultimate leg of the 2018 National Bowling Tour.

The open masters champion will pocket P80,000 while the next four placers will take home P40,000, P20,000, P10,000 and P5,000. The sixth to eighth placers will claim P2,000 each.

A seniors’ masters division is also entered in the bowlfest with also cash prizes at stake.
