JUST in case you are not aware of what this means, this refers to parents whose idea of loving their children is doing everything for them; making their school assignments (all the time), harassing teachers for giving low grades, and even cleaning and washing up after the kids while oooh-ing and aaah-ing and giving just about every praise and reward for the every tiny achievement (like finishing everything on the plate).
Did you recognize yourself there? Then, please stop. The world has enough wimps and whiners, we do not need more.
Never before have we seen parents, and even educational institutions, making so much fuss about achievements and rewards, such that the idea of rewarding has become a must, not something truly earned.
Like, we used to compete for first, second, and third honors with special awards thrown in like Best in Math and Best in Science and Best in Reading and Writing. Now, there is an award for just about everything.
