MORE police personnel have been deployed in Caraga region to ensure the safe and peaceful filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) from October 11 to 17.
Chief Supt Gilberto DC Cruz, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Caraga director, directed all unit commanders to maximize police deployment at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices during the five-day filing of COC.
Aside from the deployment of police personnel to the Comelec, the conduct of checkpoints and police visibility in areas of public convergence have been strengthened also.
“All security measures are in place to pre-empt untoward incidents during this period. We are coordinating closely with the Philippine Army, Comelec, and other counterparts to make sure that no lawless element can disrupt the scheduled filing of COC,” Cruz said.
PRO-Caraga also urged the public to immediately report suspicious things or persons to the nearest police assistance desks or to the hotline numbers of the Regional Tactical Operations Center at 0906-322-0220 or 0949-175-8787.
