Shabu worth P2.4M seized in Talisay

THIRTEEN persons were caught in separate operations in three barangays in Talisay City last Saturday, yielding P2.4 million worth of illegal drugs to the anti-narcotics operatives.

Past 11 p.m., Renato Rabaya Jr., 28, was arrested in a drug bust in Sitio Sangi, Barangay Tabunok.

He yielded 200 grams of “shabu” worth P2.3 million, a Dangerous Drugs Board value, to operatives of the Drug Enforcement Group (DEG)-Special Operations Unit 5, the Regional Intelligence Division-Regional Special Operations Group and the Talisay City Police Station.

Rabaya is on the list of high-value targets. He was identified as a member of a drug group based in Talisay City, according to the report by DEG.

Drug dens raided

In other operations in Barangays San Roque and Poblacion, 25 grams of “shabu” worth P170,000 were seized by joint operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 7, the Talisay City Police Station and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 7.

Two suspected drug den maintainers, identified as Ruel Lape Alcantara and Richie Cabañero, were arrested.

Alcantara was caught in Sitio Dauis, San Roque at 4:30 p.m. Suspected users Manny Cabrera, Jimmy Nobizaga Chavez, Solimar Goenson Abastillas and Jerome Campo Abastillas were also found in Alcantara’s drug den.

At 5:30 p.m., operatives arrested Cabañero in Poblacion. They also caught drug den visitors Filjun Mando, Eugene Cabusas, Arcel Delpino, Romeo Bacaltos, Nanette Abajon and Dave Villarosa.

Suspects will be facing complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (KAL)
