Ma, son nabbed for P180K in 'shabu'

A WOMAN and her son were arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 2 in Bacolod City Saturday, October 13.

Police identified the suspects as Mary Lea Diaz, 49, and her son, Narciso Diaz III, 18.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) raided Diaz's house at 10 p.m.

Police seized from them 13 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 15 grams, the P1,000 marked money and two coin purses.

The recovered illegal drugs have an estimated value of P180,000.

Both suspects are under the drugs watchlist.

In a separate operation, personnel of Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU)-6 confiscated four sachets of suspected shabu, and P882 in cash, including the marked money in a drug bust at Purok Star Apple II, Barangay 27 on the same day.

However, Julius Castero, 39, who was the target of the operation, managed to escape during the operation. He was from Barangay Villamonte.

The following day, personnel of Police Station 3 conducted a drug bust against 45-year-old Herny Poja at Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago. But he was able to evade arrest.

The operation yielded three sachets of suspected shabu, pouch, and drug paraphernalia.

In Murcia town, Janry Martinez, 30, of Barangay Blumentritt was also able to escape in a drug raid at the said village over the weekend.

Police recovered from Martinez's house two sachets of suspected shabu.

In La Carlota City, Lino Cadigal, 34, of Barangay 3 was collared in a drug bust at the said village on October 12.

Police seized from him two sachets of suspected shabu, an improvised tooter, two lighters, a pair of scissors, wallet, the P300 marked money and a cellular phone. (GYM)
