CEBU brand Campos Jewelry Creations is set for its first-ever exhibit overseas at the Hong Kong Mega Show 2018 this Oct. 20 to 23 at the HK Convention Center and Exhibition Centre 1, Expo Drive, Wanchai, Hong Kong.
Cebu jewelry designer Tina Magistrado of Campos Jewelry Creations, together with six leading exporters from Cebu promoting designs from home decors to fashion accessories, will be representing the Philippines at the said expo.
“Of course, I feel very excited and privileged to be a part of this exhibit,” said Tina on her brand’s inclusion in the list of exhibitors, and the chance to be able to showcase local products to a global market.
The fashion accessories brand has come a long way since 2002, and now produces not only its trademark handmade jewelry utilizing semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls but also bayong bags and shoes made from abaca. And the best part? Being able to help a small community of weavers by incorporating its services into the business.
“It’s a part of my vision to be able to help the community. So besides tapping the weavers when making the bags out of recycled plastic, I also teach them basic jewelry making,” Tina said.
When asked about her brand’s secrets to success, Tina said that she wasn’t the type who’d “chase trends.”
“I think part of the reason why people buy my pieces is that I stick with the classic and timeless designs. But I still make them in such a way that they are still unique designs. Also, quality is very important.”
