CACAO Industry Development Association of Mindanao (Cidami) president Val Turtur said this year’s Cacao Konek will be foreign delegates provided business matching opportunities for local cacao producers and growers.

Turtur said the event will be attended by 20 Taiwanese business delegates that are looking for potential investments in agriculture and tourism.

This year’s Cacao Konek, a cacao and chocolate conference, is also dubbed as the Philippine Cacao and Chocolate Festival.

“We will also be expecting chocolate makers from Belgium, Switzerland, Taiwan, and Korea,” Turtur said on Monday, October 18, 2018 during Kapehan sa Dabaw, SM City Davao.

The chocolate conference will also be providing avenue for participants to experience cacao picking by visiting different cacao plantations in Davao city.

Turtur also said though the event promotes Davao’s cacao industry, the event becomes a good avenue in creating more business ties especially with the international market.

“In fact our Swiss chocolate maker from New York will have a Swiss chocolate making demonstrating during the event,” Turtur said.

Meanwhile, Turtur also said the social media as a platform is a good medium in increasing the interest of Dabawenyos and even other interested business investors to venture in the cacao business industry.

Turtur said other malls are already conducting their own chocolate festivals as well to help promote the different cacao products.
