Authorities were forced to retaliate and hit the suspect thrice near his chest. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

"Pagtuktok sa mga operatiba sa iyang payag-payag una kini nagpabuto maong nag-retaliate ang operatiba (The suspect fired his gun when the operatives knocked the door of his makeshift shelter to serve the search warrant)," Labitad said.

Labitad said the suspect may have been engaging in illegal drug trade outside his town.

She said the suspect also has pending rape case and involved in other unrecorded incidents.

"According sa mga silingan gatambay-tambay ra daw ni siya ug gani gakahadlok pud mga silingan sa iya," she said.

Meanwhile, policemen in Cagayan de Oro City killed 31-year-old Earl Cabitaje of Tablon, this city, after he allegedly fought back with the police during what the police claimed as drug bust.
