Benguet police undergo accounting

THE Provincial Police Office (PPO) Benguet underwent a series of accounting and inspection procedure led by the Provincial Internal Affairs Service (IAS) to determine if local police adhered to office procedures dictated by the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Police Superintendent Marcial Paclibon of the Benguet IAS said the measure aims to ensure the implementation of procedures and duties are physically carried out by members of the PPO.

Aside from this, the action also seeks to correct the use of the uniforms by police under the “Tamang Bihis Program” of the PNP.

“It reviews existing rules and regulations, programs and operations of the PNP regional and provincial organization and submits reports and recommendations to the IG, IAS on the efficiency and effectiveness of the administrative programs and operations,” Paclibon said.

The IAS of the PNP is envisioned to be a truly independent and impartial body, manned by God-centered and professional officers with its mandate to instill discipline, enhance the delivery of service and dispensation of justice.

“Based on our inspection and accounting of the men and women of Benguet PPO, there were no personnel who was recorded to have not complied with the office procedures of the PNP,” Paclibon added.

From January 2018 to present, there are only two police personnel whose alleged extortion complaint is now being heard at Camp Crame.

The IAS of PNP was created pursuant to Republic Act 8551 otherwise known as “The PNP Reform and Reorganization Act of 1998.

The IAS reviews, evaluates and resolves resolution/recommendations of the Provincial/City/District IAS; within his jurisdiction, insures powers and functions of the Regional and Provincial IAS are effectively exercised and implemented including policy directions formulated by the Inspector General.
