SEASON 6 of the City Hoops Basketball League-Brinnovid Cup kicks off this weekend at the Talisay City Gym with a total of 18 teams competing for hoops supremacy.
“City Hoops Basketball League has been an annual event by Tough Gear Sportswear since 2014 and has become one of the premiere leagues in the south. This 6th season features 18 teams with entries from powerhouse teams from the north like San Remegio Properties and definitely makes the competition more interesting,” said organizer Bertoni Salazar.
Brinnovid, the Season 5 titleholder, won’t be back this season to defend its crown.
“Their team has been disbanded because the owner and the company decided to partner with the league to make it bigger,” said Salazar.
The winning team will earn P15,000 plus goods from the tournament’s sponsors. The runner-up will receive P5,000.
The 18 teams are divided into three brackets.
Bracket A is composed of Bulldogs, Southside, Castcrete Builders, SCSI- CAJ Publishing, Venomenon (SWU Alumni) and Rasenta Builders. Bracket B has Ombra Designs, Yoyi’s Pastries and Desserts, 3DG, Carmenville, San Remegio and Talisay City Hall. Group C is composed of BPO Brothas, Squeezie Laundry Huskies, TDH Medicals, John Dave Aznar, Z&G Pro and Audio and SanMiGalized. (EKA)
