U4 tracksters keep rolling, U2 sepak takraw team shines

UNIT 4 continued to collect gold medals while rivals try to catch up on Day 2 of the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet 2018 athletics competition at the Davao City National High School (DCNHS) track oval in partial official results as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Multi-titled Reza Tuba of Marilog National High School gave Unit 4 a gold in secondary girls 800-meter event. She timed two minutes and 33.95 seconds, racing past Unit 3 runners Kate McDowell of Unit 3 (2.42.27) and Princess Arias (2.42.87).

Unit 4's Carla Olem ruled the secondary girls shot put (8.37 meters) over teammate Sophia Bangunan (8.12) and Unit 1's Jenny Morales.

Christine Jean Pongaron (secondary girls 100m dash) and Francis Mae Dayon (secondary girls 100m hurdles), meanwhile, clinched golds for Unit 5 even as Unit 3 pocketed golds courtesy of Randolf Mira (secondary boys 800m) and multiple Davraa gold medalist Annabela Andrea De Guia (secondary girls 3,000m).

In sepak takraw, Unit 2 secondary boys team defeated Unit 6, 2-0. Unit 2 won the first regu, 21-14, 21-15 and the second regu, 16-21, 21-11, 21-16.

Unit 1 also eked out a victory over Unit 8, 2-0. (MLSA)
