Hugpong Alliance supports 14 senatoriables

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio named 14 senatorial candidates being supported by the Hugpong Alliance.

“I support all my friends who are running for senator. So sa ngayon nasa 14 na ang listahan ng tinutulungan namin na mga senatoriables,” Duterte-Carpio said in an interview with reporters Wednesday, October 17.

(As of now, we are supporting 14 senatorial candidates.)

Among these candidates are Ilocos Norte Governor Maria Imelda Josefa "Imee" Marcos, who is running under the Nacionalista Party; Pilar Juliana "Pia" Cayetano, still under the Nacionalista Party; and Cynthia Villar, a re-electionist.

Three senatorial candidates come from Mindanao and are under PDP-Laban, namely, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, Bureau of Corrections director general and former police chief; Christopher Lawrence "Bong" Go, former Special Assistant to the President; and Zajid "Dong" Mangudadatu, representative of Maguindanao 2nd District.

Duterte-Carpio included the two Ejercitos in the list, Joseph Victor "Estrada JV" Ejercito, Nationalist People's Coalition; and Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada, a movie actor and former senator, under Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino.

Hugpong will also support Aquilino Martin “Koko” Pimentel III, senator and lawyer, under PDP-Laban; Juan Edgardo "Sonny" Angara, senator, under Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino; Herminio "Harry" Roque Jr., former presidential spokesperson, under People's Reform Party; Francis Tolentino, the President’s political adviser, under PDP-Laban; Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr, former senator; and Rodrigo "Jiggy" Manicad Jr., a journalist.

Hugpong Alliance, is an alliance of the two regional parties Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod (HTL).
