2 drug raids yield P300,000 in ‘shabu’

AN ESTIMATED P300,000 worth of illegal drugs was seized in two separate drug busts in Negros Occidental in the past two days.

In Silay City, target subject Joyny Lacson, 38, and partner Janny Jordan, 42, both residents of Barangay Catabla, Talisay City were collared at Burgos Rizal, Barangay 2 yesterday.

Superintendent Noel Polines, city police chief, said both suspects engaged in the transaction with a police agent in Silay since they are under the target list of policemen in their hometown.

Police recovered from them four sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu amounting to P180,000, drug paraphernalia, the P15,000 boodle money, the P500 marked money, and P1,020 in cash.

Polines said Lacson is the third top drug personality under the target list of Talisay City Police Station while Jordan is also a drug surrenderer in the said city.

Polines said they conducted the operation after he received a report that the suspects will allegedly get one kilo supply of illegal drugs from a supplier in San Carlos City.

Selling fruits was the couple’s “front” for their illegal drug transaction, he added.

Polines said the two suspects will be charged with sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs and illegal possession of drug paraphernalia.

In Bacolod City, Reinier Aguilar, 47, of Barangay 27 was arrested in the said village on October 16.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) raided Aguilar’s house which resulted in a confiscation of nine sachets of suspected shabu worth P120,000, and the P1,000 marked money.

Aguilar sustained minor injuries during the operation after he tried to evade arrest from the authorities but he was cornered, police records showed. (GYM)
