Sibugay acquires P300-M heavy equipment

THE Provincial Government of Zamboanga Sibugay has acquired additional P300-million heavy equipment to boost its capability in undertake infrastructure projects.

Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Wilter Yap Palma said the newly-acquired heavy equipment included the following: four units grader, four units truck-pad excavator, four units road-roller, four units payloader, and 20 units six-wheeler dump truck. These will be delivered in batches.

Palma said all the 36 units of heavy equipment will be delivered completely in November, this year. The first batch consisting of four units grader arrived in the last week of September and second batch comprising of three units truck-pad excavator on the first week of this month.

Palma said the newly-acquired heavy equipment are essential addition to the existing equipment of the Provincial Engineer’s Office (PEO) in undertaking infrastructure projects.

Engineer Christopher Lazo, PEO head, said Zamboanga Sibugay has and existing 354 kilometers provincial roads, of which 130 kilometers were already concreted.

Lazo said the old heavy equipment maintained by his office included three units grader, a truck-pad excavator, a road-roller, two units payloader, one unit bulldozer and 11 units six-wheeler dump truck, one prime mover truck and one water tanker. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
