NSO marks civil registration month

THE National Statistics Office (NSO) has launched a nationwide celebration of the Civil Registration Month this February with the theme "Wastong Rehistro: Lahat Panalo."

This year's theme exhorts that with the proper registration of Civil Registry documents, the concerned persons entitled to it will certainly be ensured of acquiring the required services from any government and private agencies like the Government Service Insu-rance System (GSIS), Social Security System (SSS), PhilHealth, Department of Foreign Affairs, banks, among others.

NSO-Northern Mindanao formally started the celebration on February 1 during its regular flag raising ceremony at its office at Pride Rock Business Park in Barangay Gusa, which was led by the Dr. Salvador A. Aves, NSO regional director.

Trivia and quiz games were held right after the launching, which gave informative data on civil registration and fun to clients.

Another set of games was done during lunch break. Some lucky clients who were born in 1950 were given free issuances of Civil Registry documents in NSO security paper.

A series of orientation on the Touch Based Civil Registration Management System (TBCRMS), an innovation introduced by NSO-X to make civil registration service closer to the public, will be conducted by the department through mobile and fora in schools and universities in Cagayan de Oro, including the Bukidnon State University in Bukidnon.

There will also be community outreach events in partnerships with PhilHealth in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Representative Rufus Rodriguez and Representative Rolando Uy at an identified barangay in the city to fill every week of February. (PR)
