1st Int'l Dragon Boat Festival set in Davao

A TOTAL of 25 teams will compete in the 1st Davao International Dragon Boat Festival (DIDBF) slated November 30 to December 2 at the Davao Boat and Leisure Club Lanang in Davao City.

Ching Perez, organizer and member of the JCI Duwaling, bared this during the Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum on Thursday, October 18, at The Annex of SM City Davao.

Perez said two international teams from Qatar and Bangladesh will also see action in the tournament.

However, teams from Surigao Kudyaw, Tigers Surigao, Philippine Army, Philippine Navy and Philippine Air Force are forces to reckon with.

They will be participating in open small boat, women small boat and mixed standard boat categories that stake cash prizes, medals and trophies in the event sanctioned by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and Philippine Dragon Boat Federation.

The funds raised will be used in Material Recovery/Recycling Facility and coastal cleanup in Barangay Agdao and Matina. (MLSA and MRP)
