WITH Undas fast approaching, the Davao City Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC) reminded the public anew on the safety precautions and prohibited items inside the private and public cemeteries on November 1 and 2.
Angel Sumagaysay, deputy officer of PSSCC, during the I-speak media forum last Thursday, October 18, said that included in the list of prohibited items are illegal drugs, cigarettes, deadly weapons, playing cards, loud sound systems and intoxicating beverages.
“Ang mga bawal karon, gihimo sa Davao City Police Office (DCPO) ug Task Force Davao unya ihatag sa City Economic Enterprise (CEE) (The prohibited items (list) is made by the DCPO and Task Force Davao and will be given to the CEE),” Sumagaysay said during the forum.
He noted that some people have habitually ignored the prohibitions and brought the prohibited items when they visit their departed loved ones.
“Pilipino gyud ta. Sa balay pa lang daan nagplano na asa ibutang nga dili makita. Ana man gyud na, like playing cards pero sige lang, maximum tolerance lang gihapon ta (Just before we get to the cemetery, Filipinos usually plan out where to hide the prohibited items, like playing cards for example. But that is okay, we will just impose maximum tolerance),” he said.
Meanwhile, Sumagaysay also warned against thieves. He said at least one family member should be left at home to deter burglars.
Posting of signage from CTTMO and notice of prohibited items inside the cemeteries is set for October 28.
