LTFRB satellite office to open this month

The Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) satellite office in Bacolod City is expected to open within a month.

Councilor Ricardo Tan said on Friday the renovation of the new office of LTFRB in Barangay Mansilingan is ongoing and it will be occupied soon.

“I already talked with the building owner and they are trying their best to finish it as soon as possible,” he added.

LTFRB-Western Visayas director Richard Osmeña and Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia earlier agreed that the agency will stay in the city.

Osmeña said they found a place for their satellite office in Barangay Mansilingan but it needs renovation for about a month.

He said once they open the new satellite office, the LTFRB personnel from the regional office will only be here for two to three days every week.

Tan said it’s a big help to the transport group and operators in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental to process and facilitate their documents here instead of traveling to Iloilo City where the regional office is located.

The transport groups in Bacolod City earlier asked the assistance of the City Government to convince the LTFRB not to remove their office because it will be an additional burden on their part to process their documents in Iloilo City. (MAP)
