Various Peso Sun Life Prosperity Funds can now be availed for as low as P1,000 only, much lower than its previous minimum investment requirement at P5,000.
Valerie Pama, Sun Life Asset Management Company Inc. (Slamci’s) president, said that this is part of their commitment to promote financial awareness and contribute to financial inclusion.
The reduced amount was effective in September 2018.
“With this change, we hope that more Filipinos invest and pursue the journey towards financial freedom,” she said.
The change can be applied to the following Peso Sun Life Prosperity Funds: Sun Life Prosperity GS Fund, Inc.; Sun Life of Canada Prosperity Bond Fund, Inc.; Sun Life of Canada Prosperity Balanced Fund, Inc.; Sun Life Prosperity Philippine Stock Index Fund, Inc.; and Sun Life of Canada Prosperity Philippine Equity Fund, Inc.
Mary Grace Catague, Davao Area manager of Sun Life Grepa Financial Inc., for her part said, with this development they can now reach out to more clients.
“Not only focusing to top markets but also helping out our emerging young professionals who are still starting up savings and investing. This also means that even our C & D market can now participate with this investment, not only limiting to our high-earning investors,” she said in an interview with Sun Star Davao.
She also emphasized that the reduction of the initial investment will also answer one of the hindrances when it comes to investing wherein many wanted to invest but only few can afford.
