Capitol extends free hearing aid screening

GUAGUA -- Pampanga Councilors League president and Ex-Officio Board Member Olga Frances David-Dizon announced that the free screening for hearing aids is extended from October 17 to 26.

The Provincial Government of Pampanga is now hosting free hearing screening in all district and provincial hospitals in the province. The extension is to give more people the chance to avail of the screenings.

For his part, Second District Board Member Tonton Torres said that the screening will enable beneficiaries to avail of free hearing aids. The hearing screenings is part of the provincial capitol's commitment to provide free assistance in the upcoming program.

Torres said that the screenings are held in all provincial government-run hospitals in Pampanga.

The board member said that interested beneficiaries are advised to look for trained audiology nurses in the said hospitals for assistance.

Those who will be recommended to use hearing aids will be included in the Hearing Health Care Program sponsored by Starkey Hearing Foundation in cooperation with the Province of Pampanga and the University of Santo Tomas on November 3 to 4, 2018 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center.

Only screened patients will receive free hearing aids.

Torres said that interested parties may even spread the news of the upcoming activity as some 1,000 hearing aids are available for distribution.
