PROMISING its audience of realistic yet unusual stories, three new Kapuso series are centering on Filipino families -- its different faces, values, and challenges hounding it.

Top billed by Carla Abellana and Rocco Nacino, primetime soap "Pamilya Roces" has piloted on October 8 replacing "Inday Will Always Love You."

Abellana, in a press conference at Planta Hotel in Bacolod City Sunday, October 21, said the comedy series portray a modern family setup that offers viewers a mix of experience.

Abellana said the story underscores the struggle of each member of the family, especially siblings, for attention, acceptance, and love.

"The message of the show is that, no matter what, it will be your family who will help you until the end," she said, adding that it will show the rawness of a typical Filipino family.

For Nacino, "Pamilya Roces" will open the eyes of Filipino viewers on another face of a family.

"It shows a Filipino family value and identity that any kind of problem can be surpassed as long as every member helps in finding for solutions," he added.

Airing starting Monday, October 22, "Asawa Ko, Karibal Ko" is an afternoon prime soap that will depict another inspiring story about family.

The drama series, top billed by Kris Bernal, Rayver Cruz and Thea Tolentino, will show viewers a different face of infidelity with its compelling storyline.

Jason Abalos will have a special appearance, playing the husband of Bernal and will eventually become a transwoman to be played by Tolentino.

Bernal said her character will make the audience feel an "extreme pain" after having been betrayed by husband and losing a child.

Cruz, a returning Kapuso, said he is grateful to be given the chance to be part of "wonderful show" and work with two of the best Kapuso female artists.

"As I talk with some transgenders as part of my preparation for the show, I realized how important equality is," Tolentino said.

Another must-awaited series of GMA Network is "Cain at Abel," a reunion of two Kapuso kings Dingdong Dantes and Dennis Trillo after their last project in 2010.

Dantes and Trillo along with Solen Heusaff and Sanya Lopez, also in the said press conference, gave a glimpse of the story.

It will also underscore the relationship in the family, particularly siblings, which will be tested by circumstances.

After the press conference, the Kapuso stars treated thousands of BacoleƱos and Negrenses with fun and entertainment through the Kapuso Mall Shows at SM City Bacolod and Robinsons Place Bacolod.

This is the network's way of adding colors to the ongoing celebration of the 39th MassKara Festival.
