More than P700,000 of 'shabu' seized

AN ESTIMATED P722,000 worth of illegal drugs were seized in separate drug busts in Negros Occidental since October 18.

In Silay City, Orlando Milaran, 36, and Benjie Gonzales, 38, both residents of Manapla town were arrested Saturday, October 20, at Bangga Alang-Alang in Barangay Lantad after police recovered from them seven sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 25 grams worth P380, 000, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, two live ammunition of .22 caliber, an ammunition of .45 caliber, a .45 caliber pistol replica, P9,000 boodle money, the P1,000 marked money, bag, and a motorcycle.

Milaran is under the watch list of Silay City Police Station while Gonzales is a newly-identified drug personality, police records showed.

In Bacolod City, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) conducted a drug bust against Rufino Alit and Joel Estender at Barangay 2 on Saturday.

Police confiscated from the two suspects 10 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams worth P240, 000, the P1, 000 marked money and a coin purse.

Both suspects are detained at Police Station 2.

In a separate operation, Jerry Villamor was arrested in a drug bust at Barangay 39 on the same day, which resulted to a recovery of 11 sachets of suspected shabu amounting to P20,000, and the P300 marked money.

Villamor is detained at Police Station 1.

In Talisay City, Ruel Palma, 52, of Barangay Bubog and Roberto Deocadiz, 28, of Silay City were arrested over the weekend after allegedly engaging in a drug transaction at Barangay Bubog.

Police seized from them eight sachets of suspected shabu worth P60, 000, the P300 marked money, drug paraphernalia, and P600 in cash.

In Himamaylan City, Junel Dayrit, 44, of Barangay Mambagaton was arrested at Barangay Talaban on Saturday after he allegedly sold a shabu to a police agent for P500.

Police recovered from Dayrit six sachets of suspected shabu worth P17, 000, drug paraphernalia, cellular phone, and a .38 caliber revolver loaded with five live cartridges.

In Ilog town, Joey Barabat, 27, of Barangay Vista Alegre was arrested in the said village last Friday, October 19.

Police seized from Barabat three sachets of suspected shabu, two lighters, and an improvised tooter, cellular phone, pouch, the P300 marked money, and P240 in cash.

In Victorias City, Adrian Juno, 20, of Barangay 6, and Ace Lavapiez, 18, of Barangay 7 were arrested at Barangay 6 after police confiscated from them five sachets of suspected shabu worth P5,000, coin purse, two lighters, cellular phone, the P300 marked money, and P350 in cash.

Juno and Lavapiez are newly-identified drug personalities, police records showed.
