A COMPANY grows with its people. They are part of its success and play crucial in overcoming challenges.

A good company knows how to recognize its people for their contribution. For instance, Santos Land Development Corporation (SLDC) – in time for its 47th anniversary, acknowledged the undeniable effort of its real estate brokers, sales agents, and employees who have contributed a large part for its success for the past decades.

One of them is Hannah Joy Tobias, 32, a licensed real estate broker since 2011 and owner of the HT Realty Philippines.

“I feel honored kay kanang tagaan ka ug award, mura na siya ug ‘cherry on top’ nimo for your hard work sa tibuok tuig and it also shows your client na seryoso ka sa field (I feel honored to be awarded, because if we are given one, it is like a ‘cherry on top’ for your hard work for the whole year and it also shows your client that you are serious on your job),” Tobias said.

She added that it was great working with SLDC, aside from it being one of the most well-known local developers, its products and houses are also of high-quality, a reason why a lot of potential buyers are enticed to invest with the company.

There are, however, struggles along the way. Just like any other job, Tobias said that being a real estate broker takes a lot of patience. Discouragements may strike but she said that it should not be a reason for quitting.

“Keep on going and use the experiences as a learning tool to prosper,” she said.

SLDC sales and marketing manager Estela Aguilos said they value their sales team as much as they value the company.

“Our sales agents may not be regular employees but they are definitely our very important partners in the business. The sales they deliver fuel up the business. They represent the company in the very competitive market place. So who, in his right mind, wouldn’t recognize them?” she said.

Apart from its sales people, SLDC also recognized its loyal employees who stayed with the firm for five to 25 years. These individuals clearly rendered much service to the company and grew in the industry.

They are Bartolome Pamat, Jr., 25 years in service; Emily Silva, 20 years; Sherwin Avenido, Ian Kenneth Medrano, and Ren Mark Canceran, 15 years; Richard Quiachon, Hilario Ablas, Rebecca Rabanes, Pullom Rubillar, and Arnel Hibaya, 10 years; Bernie Ladaran, Jr., Arlan Millendres, Louie Baldagom, Jelio Balandra, Lyle Gambong, Jessie Tudlasan, Michael Medino, Irene Barolo, Cherry Lyn Palomata, Delio Tongcos, and Ernesto Benolirao Jr., 5 years.

Recognizing the people in the company, especially those who showed hard work and dedication, is nothing short of necessary for a firm like SLDC to continue flourish and fulfill its vision of building not just houses but homes.
