CR7 Foodtruck, Sikat Alab win in Acosta Cup opening games

THE CR7 Foodtruck and Sikat Alab eked out victories in last Sunday's opener of the 15th Acosta Cup Ladies Open Tournament at the Tionko field.

CR7 Foodtruck escaped past the D'Davao Survivors, 2-1, while Sikat Alab tamed the Rizal Memorial Colleges (RMC) Bulldogs, 4-1, right after the ceremonial kick spearheaded by Davao City Councilor Mabel Sunga-Acosta's husband Captain Rey Acosta, chief of staff Luna Acosta, Ian Acosta and team captains.

The Acosta Cup is an annual open tournament for women footballers initiated by Councilor Acosta.

This 15th edition of the tournament is in cooperation with the Davao-South Regional Football Association (DSRFA) and supported by of the Office of the City Mayor, Ulticon Builders Inc., Norminring Motorbikes, St. John Paul II College of Davao, Anflocor, Medvil Farms Inc., Lapanday Foods, Vibrant Helicopters Agricultural Corp., Southern Tourists Inn, Kudos Trucking Corp., Jollibee, and RDL Pharmaceutical Labs Inc., among others.

The games will resume on Sunday.
