THE celebration of a tourism week or tourism month is an undeniable badge of tourism investment, at least for local governments in the country.
This week, La Trinidad is currently celebrating 2018 Tourism week with various activities that are intended to promote a tourism-conscious community.
The activities include: Product exhibits with product development seminar/workshop to raise the quality of the town’s local products for tourists-consumers, arts exhibits to promote the town’s local artists and craftspeople, photo contest to encourage appreciation of our tourism assets, partnership events with local Peso and Coop office to promote tourism as a tool for livelihood and economic opportunities, an adventure race for the youth to promote environmental advocacy through eco-adventure games, a benefit concert for the victims of typhoon Ompong (#RiseUp Benguet concert), an immersion tour for locals and stakeholders, and the 3rd Tourism Conference which aims to gather tourism stakeholders of our town and inspire fruitful projects and programs for La Trinidad’s tourism industry.
The Tourism Development Services of the town, definitely outmanned and depleted of funding, is still fortunate to have active partners for the activities’ realizations – the Sangguniang Kabataan and LT Youth (Aanak ni Shontog) led by SK Chair Apolinario Jr. and Ma’am Priscilla for the Hajay Kami Photo Contest and Eco-Kulturamazing Race, special Peso activities led by Elengy, Coop activities led by national awardee Orly, MSME involvement by Kurt and of course the LT MSMEs organization, the Mayor’s Office warriors (special mention to boss George who was tireless for the last three days), Jude, Dennis, Myanne, Jerson, Brylin, Sir Francis, Sicily, Victoria, Joel, Jao, Celso, Aprille, Wesley, Abner, Senia, Atty. Miller, Andrew, Melody, all of LTMEA, the finance people and support offices...Iyaman! Thank you very much!

I have this strange dream a couple of days ago. Sometimes we dream of familiar experiences that represent our current condition or psychological state; flying which may mean a sense of freedom or some independence, dream of not getting to a destination which may symbolize setbacks or frustration for not being successful enough, dream of falling teeth which exposes our fear of getting old or becoming insignificant, dream of being bitten by a snake and suddenly waking up, which may reveal our fear for change.
There are a lot of those which reveal those that we internalize, but the dream I had days ago is different: the no. 160. That can’t be a lotto combination, but it is uniquely intriguing just the same. I searched its meaning on the internet out of curiosity (even as a numerology sceptic) and this is the common result: The deep down basic essence of the energy which number 160 represents is related to introspection and self-determination. Number 160 is about wisdom and healing and beliefs, and unlimited potential. Quite interesting don’t you think?
