THE City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) is eyeing to implement pay parking zones in Davao City next year.

CTTMO head Dionisio Abude, in a phone interview on Monday, October 22, said with the pay parking zone, car owners will be discouraged to park their cars overnight along the city streets.

"Ma-discourage ang naga overnight parking, kadtong nagabilin lang ug sakyanan na walay transaction sa area. Kanang mag-parking first hours sa buntag ug hantud na sa gabie (The car owners who park at the city streets without transaction in the area and those who parked from morning to evening will be discouraged if it will be implemented)," Abude said.

"Ikaduha, syempre, naay revenue ang syudad kay naa man tay makolekta (Secondly, of course there will be fees to be collected)," he added.

Meanwhile, Abude said they are still measuring the streets on how many four-wheeled vehicles and motorcycles will be accommodated on the identified streets with parking zones.

He further said the city might collect P20 for the first hour and P10 per hour for the succeeding hours in the identified pay parking zones if the plan will be implemented in 2019.
