2,000 Davao cops to secure Undas

THE Police Regional Office (PRO)-Davao will deploy some 2,000 additional police personnel in different cemeteries in Davao Region during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Days in line with their Oplan Kaluluwa.

PRO 11 regional director Police Chief Superintendent Marcelo Morales said they will conduct coordinating conference for their security preparation to secure all cemeteries, public convergence areas, and even tourist destinations for a peaceful “Undas.”

This is an additional support to the volunteer groups, barangay officials, and force multipliers that will be deployed by the local government units in the region.

He added that they will also be putting up police assistance desks in all cemeteries to give assistance to those who will be seeking their help. Likewise, they will designate motorist assistant points in case there will be motorist who will experience a broken vehicle along the way.

“Meron din tayong coordination sa ating barangay officials para ma-solicit yong kanilang cooperations and assistance. Lalong lalo na sa mga kababayan natin na naiiwanan yong kanilang mga bahay during the long weekend para hindi sila maging biktima ng mga akyat bahay gang at meron din tayong coordination with NGOs para magbigay ng voluntary assistance sa celebration,” Morales said.

Supervisors from the regional office will also be assigned in identified areas to supervise the implementation of the security preparation for the Oplan Kaluluwa.
