Lopue’s MassKara table tennis tourney concludes

THE Lopue’s Table Tennis Association headed by Dr. Leonito “Diotay” Lopue and in partnership with Sugarlandia Lions Club again successfully organized the Lopue’s Masskara Invitational Table Tennis Championship 2018 held at LOPTTA Playing Center in Lopue’s San Sebastian Annex Building, Bacolod City from October 19 to 21.

Participants coming from Sagay, Silay, Talisay, Murcia, La Carlota, San Enrique, Moises Padilla, Isabela, Binalbagan, different schools and clubs in Bacolod, Antique, and as far as Tacloban came to join the competition.

There were 10 events in this competition. In the 10 and under Boys Beginners, Yanji Mercurio won the championship over John Wyn Bajar, while Lance Harren Bodoso settled in the second runner-up.

In the 10 and under Girls Beginners, Andrea De los Angeles bagged the gold award after winning over San Montero while Angel Aspero received the bronze award.

In the 10 and under Boys event, James Tancinco was crowned champion while RV Valderama finished first runner-up and Gabriel Chua in second runner-up.

Aliyah Yanson dominated the 10 and under Girls while Nicole Camille Bomban settled in the second place and Ameera Bacomo in the third.

In the 13 and under Boys event, Antimony Ginete won the championship over Dirk Nikhole Atilano, 3-1.

In the 13 and under Girls, Ayumi Iida garnered the championship over Dianah Yapiso while Dee Ann Divinagracia settled in the second runner-up.

In addition, Micah Tanate was unbeaten in the women’s open event, while Mariella Mabaquiao placed second and Paula Beatrice Canalin finished third place.

In the Men’s open event, John Paul Gubaton won the championship against Niel John Lauren, and Pastor Richard Ginete placed third.

In the men’s executive event, Robert Arteche from Tacloban again won over John Paul Castillon in the finals, while Noel Cadiz settled for second runner-up.

In the veterans (60 and above) event, Robert Arteche was the back to back champion while Felipe Epitacio was second place and Rev. Joel Valdez finished third. (PR)
