THE Davao Jones Academy (DJA) will banner Davao City in the upcoming Tapang at Malasakit Alliance for the Philippines National Finals slated October 28-30 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
DJA, which represented Buhangin District, topped the single-round robin district qualifier over Jesus J. Soriano National High School-powered Catalunan Grande and Baguio District composed of Calinan and Los Amigos National High School selections last May at the Almendras Gym Davao City Recreation Center.
They will face formidable teams from Malolos City, Mandaue City, Quezon City and San Juan City in this event organized and initiated by Paolo "Pulong" Duterte who aims to provide an avenue for the youth to showcase their skills and talents, keeping them away from drugs and other vices.
"This would be a good battle. Maningkamot jud mi para dili pud ta maulawan (We will do our best)," DJA head coach and sports coordinator Rael Diaz said.
Davao City will lean on the service of Askiah John Echavia-Ferriols, Nico Cabalhin, Steven Lee Bryle Cordova, Clarck Xavier Abracia, John Sanchez, Ivan Lavador, Hobbie James Abolencia, Ken Jigger Ceño, Mark Jeron Cabeza, Japet Galupo, Eldrid Ireneo De Jesus III and Leeshane Frouze Constantino.
