MYMP introduces new vocalist

ACOUSTIC band MYMP, which stands for Make Your Momma Proud, welcomes the Valentine's Day with its new vocalist set to take the centerstage.

The band officially introduced Juliet Bahala, 18-year-old regional singing champion from Davao, as the newest addition in the band to deliver great music especially this February.

The group, with Juliet in tow, is set to do a pre-Valentine's Day concert at the Music Museum titled "MYMP Now" this February 12.

Chin Alcantara, MYMP guitarist and founder, said he was impressed by Juliet's demo tapes and she is a welcome addition to the group.

It was October last year when Juris Fernandez left the band for creative and personal reasons and pursued her solo singing career.

Fernandez signed a contract with Star Records after leaving MYMP.

The group, when Fernandez was still around, was able to do six albums and later on was chosen as the 1st PMPC Star Awards Best Duo/Group Artist of the Year for Music.

Though with new vocalist, Alcantara cleared that the group will not shift from acoustic music to a new genre.

He said they will just explore the vocal range of Juliet so that they will know more the path to follow on.

The band is hoping and praying that fans will show their undying love and support for their music even with new vocalist at hand. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
