156 hired on the spot in 2-day job fair

A TOTAL of 156 applicants were hired on the spot (Hots) while 751 qualified who are subject for final review and examination in the recently-held two-day Hermosa Job Fair in Zamboanga City.

The job fair, which was part of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival, was held from October 19 to 20 at the KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Maria Socorro Rojas, Public Employment Service Office (Peso), said that 103 of the 156 Hots were hired on the first day while the remaining 53 on the second day of the job fair.

Rojas, who is also the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) officer, said that 556 of the 751 applicants qualified on the first day while 195 were on the second day of the job fair.

The job fair registered a total of 1,135 applicants, 756 of which were registered on the first day and 379 on the second day.

Meanwhile, the Technical Educational Services and Development Authority (Tesda) provided almost 200 people with free manicure, pedicure, massage and haircut services.

The Social Security System served 92, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation served 97 and Pag-Ibig fund served 105 in terms of registration services and updating of membership.

The job was jointly organized by the CSWDO-Peso, Department of Labor and Employment, Philippine Overseas Employment Agency, and Tesda as well as the KCC Mall de Zamboanga. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
