TIGTIGAN Terakan Keng Dalan (TTKD), dubbed as the biggest music, food, and street party in the Philippines, is set to draw thousands of attendees Friday night, October 26.

Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan, who founded the first TTKD festival in 1992, said this year’s TTKD will be the last under his term as city mayor.

The mayor expressed hopes that the next administration will continue staging the annual street party as it commemorates the resilient and triumphant spirit of the Angeleños amidst adversities and calamities.

“I would want TTKD to be remembered not just an ordinary street party but an opportune time for us Angeleños to remember our struggles during the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and how we were able to bounce back to progress,” said Pamintuan.

“TTKD will be forever etched in the city’s history. It is about time that we give the torch to the next leaders who will continue to illuminate the light of hope that this festivity brings,” the mayor added.

The two-day celebration will be staged at the one-kilometer stretch of MonTang Avenue in Barangay Balibago, the city’s central business and entertainment district.

Co-organized by the JCI Angeles City Culiat and the San Miguel Brewery Corporation, this year’s edition is expected to wow visitors with an opening salvo Friday night spearheaded by the Angeles City Tourism Office (ACTO) and the Culture and Arts Council of Angeles (CACA).

Dance competitions and special performances from various local and national artists are also expected to fill the venue with night-long entertainment.

Food booths and stalls offering various cuisines will also be opened to delight residents and tourists with diverse taste buds.

Meanwhile, the TTKD steering committee assures the safety of the attendees as it implements heightened security protocols in coordination with the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO), Angeles City Traffic Development Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO).

TTKD serves as the climax of the month-long Fiestang Kuliat celebration of this highly-urbanized city.
