Pretty in pink October

Check out these oh-so-pretty picks that take after the color of the month.

Too Faced Love Light Prismatic Highlighter

Too Faced always kills it with product packaging. The compact of this highlighter reminds me so much of my favorite Polly Pocket toys growing up. The product itself has a gorgeous prism embossed design and a cream to powder formula with a buildable pearl finish. The shade Ray of Light is a pretty rose gold that will enhance morena skin tones or act as a subtle blush and highlight for lighter complexions.

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

Good makeup application is a combination of products, tools, and technique. There are many available brush options now that are pretty good, so there’s no need to splurge thousands on a single brush (unless you feel it’s worth the investment). See and feel the difference when using a quality brush over a too-cheap, poorly made one. You’ll notice that good brushes pick up and apply product differently on the skin. Zoeva is a mid-range brand that offers brushes in sets like this pretty rose gold one that has everything you need for a complete face. If you don’t want to splurge so much or only really want a couple of good brushes, Zoeva brushes are sold individually as well.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

I will not deny I am an Urban Decay Naked palette fan—I have patronized each one from the original Naked palette (RIP, as it’s tragically been discontinued) to the Naked Heat palette released last year. The latest temptation has recently been released in the form of the Naked Cherry palette, which features gorgeous pinks, mauves, and plums. If these shades are up your alley and you really do like wearing and experimenting with eyeshadow (as opposed to using only the same two shades each time), it’s a worthy purchase. I cannot recommend the Naked palettes enough to those who really enjoy using eyeshadow. I feel like I’ve used most of mine so much that they should look battered, but I have not yet hit pan on a single shade because you only need two or three swipes with most Urban Decay shadows to get full color payoff. They’re incredibly smooth and blendable too.
