Water, power outage this weekend

WATER and power services are set to be disrupted for several hours Friday, October 26, until the weekend in some areas in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Cagayan de Oro Water District (COWD) announced that there will be a water service interruption (low pressure to no water) in the west service area especially in elevated portions and multi-storey buildings from 9 a.m. Friday, October 26 until 2 p.m. Saturday, October 27.

In its advisory, it said the COWD's bulk water supplier, Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water, Inc. (COBI) shall be conducting preventive maintenance work on their booster pump at Pualas, Baungon, Bukidnon.

It added water supply delivery will be reduced from 2,500 cubic meters per hour (CMPH) to 1,800 CMPH for the duration of the said activity.

Meanwhile, electricity will be interrupted for nine hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in some portions of Barangay, Balulang, this city, Friday.

The Cagayan Electric Power and Light Co., Inc. (Cepalco) in its advisory said it will facilitate primary pole relocation.

Areas affected are Lourdesville Subdivision and greater portion of Gold City village in Barangay Balulang.

There will also be a power outage for 10 hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, as Cepalco facilitates the 69KV pole removal at El Mundo, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental as well as the revision of 34.5KV structure at Vicmar crossing and 34.5 KV loop reinforcement at Tagoloan old road.

Affected areas include portion of Natumulan at El Mundo St. and NGCP road towards Zone 2 up to Emano, Achas and UKC crusher plants; Crossing Vicmar National Highway including Misortel Host exchange building, Polar Bear Freezing and Storage Corporation, Sultan Kudarat Milling and Trading Inc., One stop Logistics Solutions, Mindanao International Container Port, Phividec office and Golden Sun Cargo Examination Services Corporation.

Meanwhile, a 30-minute switching works will also be implemented from 7 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

Affected areas are from Villa Rosario Subd. and Nestle Philippines Warehouse to San Vicente and Villa San Juan; All the barangays of Bugo, Puerto, Upper Puerto to Alae area, Agusan and Balubal area, Tablon, this city, up to General Milling including Sapong and Palalan; Firstgen HEP, Global Agro and Menzi-Agri of NGCP 34.5 KV Damilag line.

Cepalco said power will be restored immediately even without further notice when line and switching works are completed earlier than scheduled.
