TEN barangays in Bacolod City will compete for the Electric MassKara Performing Floats Competition at the Tourism Strip in Lacson Street today.
Danjan Plazo, Electric MassKara coordinator, said on Thursday, October 25, the competition will start at 7:30 p.m. at the Tourism Strip.
The performing villages are Barangays Handumanan, Banago, 2, 5, 7, 14, 22, 31, 32 and 38.
Plazo said the 10 barangays will perform in four stages along Ramos Street, old Coca-Cola plant, in front of the Philippine National Bank (PNB) and Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) areas.
After their performance, they will announce the top three winners who will receive P50,000, P30,000 and P20,000 for the first, second and third runners-up, respectively, he said.
The top three winners including the fourth and fifth runners-up will also perform on October 27 at the Tourism Strip.
“We are ready including our security in the area so let’s enjoy the Electric MassKara,” Plazo said.
The Electric MassKara Performing Floats Competition is one of the highlights of the 39th MassKara Festival.
The Electric MassKara, which started in 2007, is a night parade with full of lights and floats.
