Duterte in Bacolod on October 27

PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte will arrive in Bacolod City on October 27 to grace the 39th MassKara Festival.

He was initially reported to arrive in the city on October 28, the closing highlights of the Festival.

Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) president and general manager Jesus Clint Aranas confirmed this yesterday in a phone interview, who said the President will arrive in the city at 5 p.m. to meet the Bacoleños.

Duterte, who will be accompanied by former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence Go, will witness the MassKara street dance competition schools category at the public plaza.

Aranas said that the President is really concerned with the people of Bacolod and Negros Occidental, especially on what happened in Sagay City, where nine farmers were killed.

“He loves Bacolod because of the people’s hospitality and it will be the third times that the President will join the MassKara Festival,” he said.

Councilor Em Ang, action officer of the MassKara Festival, earlier announced that President Duterte will be here on October 28.

Duterte will be with his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, Senator Cynthia Villar and the secretary of the Department of Tourism will also be here during the highlights of the festival.

Mayor Evelio Leonardia is also thankful to Aranas for facilitating the visit of Duterte in Bacolod.
