A FORMER member of the New People's Army (NPA) was gunned down by unidentified armed men at Barangay San Antonio in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental Friday morning.

Killed was Raymart Dagohoy, 22.

Investigation showed the victim, along with his father and five co-workers, was working at the sugarcane plantation past 6 a.m. when 22 armed men fired at him.

His father and five others were able to hide during the attack.

The gunmen believed to be members of the rebel group then fled while shouting "Mabuhay ang NPA" (Long live NPA).

Police recovered from the scene seven fired bullets of M16 Armalite rifle and .45 caliber pistol.

The victim succumbed to six gunshot wounds in the head and stomach.

He was previously targeted by the same perpetrators but he survived the attack.

The incident was triggered after the victim was identified as an alleged "military informant" when he left the movement, according to his father.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, a decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found at a sugarcane plantation at Barangay Aguisan in Himamaylan Thursday, October 25.
