GABRIELA Party-list slammed President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday, October 28, following his another lewd remark on women.
"Kahit sino ay dudura talaga sa Pangulo dahil sa pagkamuhi sa kanyang walang kaparis na kabastusan. Maliligo siya sa laway ng mamamayang galit na galit sa kanyang kamanyakan at pagka-inutil.”
"Kasuklam-suklam ang paggamit niya ng kanyang posisyon para ipabatid sa publiko ang kanyang kalibugan at pagnanasa sa kababaihan,” said Gabriela.
In his speech at the MassKara Festival in Bacolod City on Saturday, October 27, Duterte said his critics are welcome to spit on him if they have found that he contradicts himself, adding that he would keep the saliva of beautiful women.
“Pero ‘pag babae ka na maganda at dinuraan mo ako, ‘yung laway mo kunin ko, ilagay ko sa bibig ko, lapitan ko at sabihin ko isauli ko sa iyo laway mo, dagdagan ko ng aking dahil maganda ka,” said Duterte and added further that he will not kiss his women critics whom he called crazy and ugly.
“Di ako maghalik sa’yo pero ‘pag ang babae maghalik kunin ang laway, lagay ko sa dila ko, lapitan ko, sabihin ko, isauli ko sa’yo ang laway mo, dagdagan ko ng akin dahil maganda ka,” Duterte said.
Gabriela urged the President to not to divert to his lewdness the legitimate demands of the public.
"It is reprehensible that the President chose again to engage in his gross macho antics at a time when majority of Filipino women live a hand-to-mouth existence due to skyrocketing prices and depressed wages. We lament that this further contributes to degradation and disrespect of women, and disturbingly sets a very bad example for our children,” Gabriela ended.
The President has several times drawn criticisms from Gabriela and other women’s group for his supposed misogynistic remarks. (SunStar Philippines)
