MEMBERS of the press and blogger community in Cagayan de Oro City have spent the night filled with fun, games and laughter with Globe's Cirque de Globe held at Seda Hotel on Friday evening, October 26.

The media and blogger appreciation party was held as Globe's way of saying thank you for the continued support from the media and bloggers of Cagayan de Oro.

“Thank you very much for coming here tonight. On behalf of our president and CEO Ernest Cu, thank you for being our partners in media and continuously supporting Globe,” Monday Gonzalez, the director for Content Management and Creatives Services of Globe Telecom, said.

This year, Globe came up with the theme Circus, inviting their guests to wear their best circus or carnival-themed outfit for the event, which some of them did while some did not.

The members of the press and bloggers were treated to delicious meal and later they participated in several games prepared by Globe including a singing competition, getting the balls out of the box through shaking their body and a race of putting small balls inside the box using their knees.

To the delight and excitement of everyone present in the event, several items were raffled off including Sodexo Gift Certificates, television, cooker, Supremo 4K Plus, Samsung Galaxy S9, iPhone 8 plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

The highlight for that evening is not just the raffled prizes but also the array of acts done by five groups participating in Globe's talent show: The Greatest Show, a first ever since the mobile network conducted appreciation parties several years ago.

With their circus or carnival-theme costumes, five groups of media and blogger guests took the stage to perform their acts, such as dancing, singing, doing a skit.

What’s amusing was not just the talents themselves but the commentaries from the audiences as well.

The prizes for the talent show includes: P50, 000 cash for the first prize; P30, 000 cash for the second prize; P20, 000 cash for the third prize; and P5, 000 worth of Sodexo Gift Certificates for the consolation prize.

The night ended with several awards and prizes given to the media people and bloggers, particularly Jen Besere, Stephanie Berganio and Kris Sialana from SunStar Superbalita and Sheryl Macale Cariaga from Radyo Natin as their group won the first prize in the talent show wherein they performed an interpretative dance number. Cariaga also won the Best Carnival Attire that evening.

Globe is undeniably one of the top mobile networks in the city and with that it guarantees to serve more the Cagayan de Oro communities through its upcoming various advocacies and events as its way of thanking the subscribers in the city.
