Contractor told to proceed with flyover projects

CONSTRUCTION of two flyovers is expected to start before the year ends.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has issued a notice to proceed to winning contractor FREY-FIL Corporation, a Metro Manila-based firm that specializes in flyover projects, box bridges, expressways and other major road projects.

The flyover projects, initiated by First District Representative Celso Lobregat, were supposed to commence with road preparations on October 3, but were deferred because of the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival activities.

The first flyover, with a project cost of P223.2 million, will be constructed at the intersection of Governor Camins and Veterans Avenues in front of the Santa Cruz Commercial Complex. It is set to be completed in 504 calendar days.

The second flyover, valued at P234.8 million, will be built along the Zamboanga City-Labuan highway in 552 calendar days.

Edwin Acol, FREY-FIL project engineer, said they have started mobilizing equipment for the projects.
