RUFFA SORONGON capped off the month with her third straight victory in a half-marathon distance in the Gaisano Country Mall 25th Anniversary Run at the mall’s parking area on Sunday, Oct. 28. Sorongon ruled the women’s 21-kilometer race with a time of 1 hour, 33 minutes and 28 seconds, beating Evamie Villarin who came in more than a minute behind. Marie Stephen Jayson crossed the finish line at 1:40:04 for third place. The Sultan Kudarat-native Sorongon conquered the half-marathon distance in the Milo Marathon Cebu Leg on Oct. 14 followed by a win in the Gaisano Capital Anniversary Run last Oct. 21. In the men’s 21K race, Keenan James Caburnay breasted the tape in 1:12:33 followed by his training partner Prince Joey Lee in 1:13:23 and Joseph Emia in 1:14:43. (RSC)
