Arevalo to replace Desoyo as Negros army commander

THE 303rd Infantry Brigade (IB) of the Philippine Army based in Murcia will have a new commander effective Monday, November 5.

Colonel Benedict Arevalo, commander of 301st IB based in Iloilo City, will swap post with Colonel Alberto Desoyo as the 303rd IB commander.

Arevalo used to be an intelligence officer of the 302nd Infantry Brigade in Negros Island from 1994 to 1995 and then from 1996 to 1998.

He also served as intelligence and operations officer of the defunct Third ID’s Seventh IB from 1992 to 1994.

Arevalo will have a bigger responsibility, as he will supervise four Army battalions in Negros, being the new commander of the 303rd IB.

He belongs to Philippine Military Academy Class 1990.

He has two other siblings serving the AFP, who are also graduates of Philippine Military Academy (PMA). One of them is Major General Robert Arevalo, Vice Commander of the Philippine Army.
