AFTER personally visiting Typhoon Ompong victims and their families in Barangay Loacan, Itogon, Benguet where they turned over a total cash donation worth P705,000, more help was given by the Benguet Organization United Kingdom with their officers visiting six more municipalities in the province for another outreach mission.

The organization co-founders couple Archie and Grace Nabus also personally visited the typhoon victims in Bokod and handed a total amount of P100,000 to them. The ten beneficiaries with totally damaged property are Jerby Gonzalo, Gilbert Chipo, Romy Buayan, Ederwin Nangis, Clemente Ciriaco, Nicanor Ciriaco, Leticia Botiway, Cornelia Ciriaco, Aurelia Pio, and Imelda Campic Sabas.

In Kabayan, a total amount of P175,000 were given to beneficiaries with damage property and one casualty. The cash donations was intended for Jimson Agustin, Mila Simpoda, Augusta Badillo, Rowena Ananayo, Molesto Bay-an, Helen Tampoc, Shirley Guidayan, Marina Cal-is, Juan Marcos, and Merilyn Wakit.

Also given financial help were Helen Torren, Josefa Petlongay, Lolita Galmote, Jenelyn Galmote, Robert Kilgto, Jaime Gapuz, Julio Sindac, Wilson Liwan, Joseph Talomi, Duarte Maglaya, and Rey Agot.

For the individual beneficiaries Marlyn Baguitay and Melissa Anablon, both from Puguis, La Trinidad received P10,000 each; Cherry Mimas Camiding who lost her husband Clifford Camiding and from Barangay PMA Kias, Baguio City also received P10,000.

Meanwhile, P10,000 cash each was also given to Crisdale Ballinggan of Bakun and for Santiago Manuel (deceased) of Central Kapangan. This was received by Eusebio his good friend.

For the group, Mt. View Neighbourhood Association Barangay Camp 4-6 was provided P 45,000 cash assistance which will be used for the rehabilitations in the area.

The total amount of P1.145 million distributed to all beneficiaries mostly from Benguet was raised by the Nabus couple through a fund raising drive using Facebook. IFugao Org UK responded to this effort by donating £1000.

The financial assistance given to typhoon Ompong victims may not bring back what they have lost during the calamity. But it will mean a lot to them knowing that there is a group like the Benguet Org UK who never stops giving support to people who are in dire need.
