LTFRB sets up help desks for All Souls’ Day weekend

THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) will establish help desks during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day as well as intensify the crackdown on colorum vehicles.

The new regional director of LTFRB, lawyer Cattleya Acaylar, said they have been deploying personnel for inspection and will put up help desks in the different terminals to address transport concerns and other matters.

“Manakop mi og mga colorum, inspection sa mga terminals to be sure na ang mga mubyahe nato na mga bus ug mga vans ug unsa pa ron, naa gyud dapat franchise (We will crackdown on colorum [vehicles] through inspection at the bus terminal to make sure that all public utility vans (PUVs) and buses have franchises),” Acaylar said in an interview with reporters last October 29.

“Lisod ang colorum kung mao’y ma-disgrasya, walay insurance ang mga pasahero (Passengers would not be able to claim insurance if a colorum vehicle meets an accident),” she added.

PUVs that do not have body markings are probably colorum, according to the LTFRB. PUVs should be marked with the LTFRB hotline number, name of the operator and the number of the operator.

“Sige namo ug inspect ang mga vans, naa gyud na sila’y body markings (We have been inspecting PUVs and they all have body markings),” Acaylar said.
