DEFENDING champion Team Zombabwe, formerly Team Labadami, retained its title after winning this year's edition of the Scarevengers 2018 Zombowling held Wednesday, October 31, at the SM Lanang Premier Bowling Center.
SunStar Davao sports reporter Adz Morrell toppled a total of 144 pinfalls as Team Zombabwe emerged back-to-back champion in the event sponsored by SM, Sky Cable, San Miguel Brewery Inc., San Miguel Pure Foods, Park inn by Radisson, Smart, Apo Agua, Aboitiz Power, Davao Light and Power Company, Lara Mia Cafe and Bistro, Dermpath, Sky, Krispy Kreme, Mari Yoga and Dance Studio, SMDC, Mi Gusta Gourmet Tuyo, Max's, Olivia and Diego, and Swito Corp.
He bested fellow SunStar Davao reporter John Gilford Doquilla of Team Hybrid and SunStar Davao photojournalist Macky Lim of Team Brains who placed second and third, respectively.
Doquilla rolled 116 pins while Lim scored 78.
Earlier, Team Zombabwe, who was also composed of SunStar Davao columnist Jinggoy Salvador and Mindanao Times columnist Ian Ray Garcia, garnered 320 in the three-game elimination round.
Team Hybrid, bannered by Doquilla, Lyka Amethyst Casamayor and Randie Jane Comilang (294) placed second while Lim, Xer Jason Ocampo and Tats Daval-powered Team Brains (252) finished third.
Rounding up the top six were Team Aswang (Bing Gonzales, Joselle and Maya Padillo), Team Nakakatacute (Mark Piranha, Cristina Alivio and Ace Perez) and Team Angie (Ralph Llemit, Leebai Ambolodto and Judie Vega).
Meanwhile, Morrell received a Samsung Galaxy Tab A6 courtesy of Skycable for clinching the highest total score of 144. (ABM)
