7 hurt in Zamboanga Sibugay highway accident

SEVEN people, including three minors, were injured in a highway accident in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, disclosed the incident occurred around 8 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, along national highway in Namnama village, Titay, this province.

Galvez identified the victims as the following: Cresencio Talaroc, 53; Virginia Ismael, 54; Cerilo Talaroc, 56; Freny Bea Esmael, 17; Celeste Talaroc, 14; Richard Conijar, 10; and, Conchita Panglinawan, 58.

She said the victims were aboard a vehicle driven by Cresencio, who lost control of the steering wheel and crashed on a land barrier along the highway while traveling from Salug, Zamboanga Del Norte to Zamboanga City.

She added that the occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries as a result of the impact. They were rushed to a hospital for treatment. (SunStar Philippines)
