Price of flowers stable for Undas

WITH the long holiday this week due to Undas, prices of flowers continue to remain stable, market vendors said.

“Okay ra man pud nuon ang prices sa mga bulak sa karun daghan napud mupalit pero dili naman pud ni mubaba na kay karun raman pud ni nga semana (The price of the flowers now are stable. Even though a lot are already buying, the prices won’t go down since undas will only happen this week),” flower market vendor Nordil Nengasca said in interview at Bankerohan Public Market, Davao City on Thursday, November 1.

Nordil added though compared to ordinary days their sales on selling flowers will surely increase.

“Mga muabot pud og P1,000 ang deperensya sa among mga mabaligya pag ting-undas (The difference would also reach P1,000 in terms of what we sell during undas),” Nordil added.

Flowers are sold through different arrangements.

A small bundle of aster, anthurium and roses would only cost for P150. The larger bundle of the same flowers would cost P350.

Flower bundles of jimba cost P350, and the larger bundle costs P450 to P500 depending on the height of the desired flower arrangement.

Roses cost at P10 per piece while chrysanthemum prices at P100 per 15 pieces.

Flower market vendor Rose Singlang said influx of buyers will be really felt by November 2.

“Dira man jud mas daghan tao (It is really at that time where there are many people),” Singlang said in an interview.

Flower supply in Bankerohan comes from Calinan, Marilog, and Digos.
