THE Davao City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) reported on Thursday that there had been no major incidents during All Saints’ Day in cemeteries.

“Walay problema, only minor na mga cases like makuyapan, ma-dehydrate kanang mag-need og first aid, that is the very purpose na nagbutang ta ug mga responders mismo sa sementeryo (There have been no problems, only minor cases like those who fainted, dehydrated and those who needed first aid. That is the very purpose why we deployed responders to all cemeteries),” Rodrigo Bustillo, head of CDRRMO, said in a phone interview yesterday.

He said that they are closely monitoring the annual holy day of the Catholic Church under the Philippine National Police’ Oplan Kaluluwa 2018. Their medical teams were also deployed in different cemeteries to respond to emergencies.

“Naay mga gagmay na reports tungod pud siguro sa kainit sa panahon (There were some reports maybe because of the weather),” he said.

With the influx of people visiting the graves of their loved ones on All Saints Day, CDRRMO said that the deployed responders are enough to cater to the public’s needs.

“We can expect to have more visitors in the cemeteries tomorrow because it’s a long weekend,” Bustillo said as he anticipated more visitors today, November 2.

Meanwhile, Bustillo reminded the public to stay hydrated and bring water with them in the cemeteries.

“As much as possible, kadtong mga kaigsuonan nato na adunay gipangbati, i-refrain lang nato sa mga menteryo kung lisod gyud ang kahimtang (Those who are not really feeling well, it is better not to go to cemeteries),” Bustillo said.

“We have to prepare always sa mga sitwayson (We have to prepare in circumstances),” he added.
