Partygoers cause traffic on All Saints’ Day eve

HALLOWEEN partygoers in Maa caused traffic during the eve of All Saints’ Day where the influx of visitors in the cemetery near the area was expected.

“Wala ma’y problema kung mag-party-party, basta makabalo lang mi diri kay aron matagaan namo ug tao (We have no problems about parties as long as we are aware so we can deploy personnel),” Dionisio Abude, City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) head, said in a phone interview on Friday, November 2, adding that the partygoers are probably homeowners of Woodridge Subdivision.

“Nangayo unta sila ug tao kay halos tanan activity, bisan gani og mga fun run or mga ginagmay lang na events, maghatag man gani ta ug assistance (They should have asked for our personnel because almost all activity, even fun run or other minor activities, we usually give assistance),” he said.

Abude added that organizers of the event should have at least sent a letter since they organized an event with a large crowd.

He added that the CTTMO personnel managed the traffic flow minutes after someone called their office about the situation.

Abude said that the public should always coordinate their activities to avoid traffic congestion that may hassle other people especially during peak seasons like Undas.

Meanwhile, he said that the rerouting scheme of CTTMO for the Oplan Kaluluwa 2018 is still being followed and that there have been no major incidents so far in the city.
